Christmas can be a bit of a crazy time of year, but amongst all the excitement can be a lot of stress. Keep calm this Christmas with a little meditation and a lot of mindfulness! Try meditation:

Meditation doesn’t involve any specialist equipment or even a substantial amount of time, but can make the world of difference to your wellbeing. Whether you choose to meditate first thing in the morning, during a coffee break or last thing at night, taking a few moments out of your day can reduce stress levels and calm your mind, helping you to focus. Practice Mindfulness:

Mindfulness is all about taking notice of what’s happening around you and in your own head. It’s about focusing on the present moment rather than worrying about the past or future. Mindfulness is choosing what to pay attention to, rather than aimlessly following your mind’s version of events and acknowledging your current thoughts and emotions without judgement. Moroever, mindfulness helps us become aware that our thoughts are not facts and to help us to deal with stressful situations calmly to enable us to feel more in control. Mindfulness involves ‘turning off’ or de-activating autopilot by altering your daily routine slightly. So, what can we do to become more mindful? Try to take each day at a time and focus on the present moment, rather than dwelling over past events or worrying about the future. Notice and enjoy the situation you’re currently in and what is surrounding you. The people you are with, what you are doing, what sounds you can hear, what scents you can smell. Take the time to appreciate your surroundings and you may be surprised by the positive effect it may have on your life.
