There are many myths of weird and wonderful products to use to fight spots, and an abundance of chemicals available. At Urban Veda, we believe that natural is always best.
Here are five of our top breakout-banishing ingredients to rescue you in a time of need…
Neem: Neem is a potent and powerful plant, known in India as ‘the village pharmacy’. It is both antiseptic and antibacterial which makes it excellent for keeping spots at bay.
Mediterranean Cypress: Cypress is astringent, which means it’s great for balancing oily skin and for reducing congestion. It is also considered to be a wound healer.
Quassia: Traditionally used for its highly astringent and invigorating properties, Quassia extract helps to reduce excess sebum (oil) from the skin and reduce shine. It is considered to minimise the appearance of visible pores and boasts antibacterial properties, which is great for targeting breakouts.
Tea Tree: With a zesty and pungent scent, tea tree has traditionally been used to clarify complexions. It is an antiseptic tonic which helps to cleanse and cool the skin and reduce inflammation. It is often used to target acne, breakouts and skin infections.
Witch Hazel: Witch Hazel is a strong astringent with a very high antioxidant content to clarify and protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals.
